Low-Cal Snacks from the Shops

Here we’ve collected some supermarket snack ideas for you that are all under 100 calories if you need to grab and go if you're out and about or if you're in the office at work.

Top tips:

  1. If you can try to pair your snacks with higher volume items (such as fruit or veg) to keep you feeling fuller for longer.

  2. Opt for high in protein snacks to make you feel fuller e.g. a babybel, snackable chicken.

Having said that, sometimes you also just need to honour your cravings. The more you avoid something or tell yourself you can't have it the more likely you are to go overboard!

Our pairing suggestions:

  • A serving size of popcorn - either with some fruit or you could mix in a small amount of chocolate

  • Bananas on rice cakes - if you have the extra calories you can drizzle with some nut butter or caramel sauce

  • Ryvita crispbreads/ or any style of cracker with cottage cheese, tomato and a pinch of salt. You could also use lightest cream cheese if you’re not a fan of cottage.

  • Hummus with carrot sticks

  • Yoghurt with fruit

  • Yoghurt with broken up cake bars and fruit

  • Protein sources - ready to go chicken to snack on, boiled eggs, babybels etc. Chicken can even be popped in a mini wrap. Tinker around with how much to have to fit your calories for the day.

  • Prep in advance if you go to work - mini adult lunchables with rolled up ham, a baby bel, small crackers and some fruit. Add something that you enjoy.
